My butterfly amaryllis this morning.
I raised this amaryllis from a small bulb I purchased 4 yrs ago. I wasn't sure if it was ever going to bloom but amaryllis foliage s quite lovely on its own.
Definitely worth the wait

Are plants trying to tell us something? If so, it’s likely through Tarun Nayar, a biologist-turned musician who connects cables from his custom-built modular synthesizers to mushrooms, fruits, leaves etc., and transforms their bioelectric signals into captivating sounds. Atlas Obscura has the story and a link to the tunes:
Ouf. Petite pause d'actu, j'ai atteint mon quota.

tomatoes always sprout a little faster than peppers. these two were planted on the same day, a little less than two weeks ago.
ok, another seedling - so what? well, this one is an ornamental pepper that grew from the seeds i saved from a nursery plant last year. as you can see, those seeds were viable! two have sprouted so far.
seed saving is the most rewarding propagation imo
Hello!
Thank you for your attention to my first post and my first #craft And now to business. This is something like a small survey. Would you like such a #plant #bookmark for #books if you do not pay attention to the color (this is a test copy from the colors that I had)? It is made by #needlefelting 100% from nettle.

Saw this at the current exhibit at Wash U's Kemper Art Museum. The whole exhibit is about seeds and the art is lovely, but this really stunned me. The drawers are full of seeds taken from plants growing locally, which you can take.
Through fractious elections and devastating hurricanes, this has been a rowdy flagship issue to birth into print. But Poison Garden's first volume, The Purpose of Poison, launches in just 3 days with conscious and cooperative contributions from all over the world.

Alright, all you #wetland lovers - I'm digging all the #MarshMadness photos you're sharing, but I hope you're also preparing for #Swamptember and #Bogtober this fall and #Fenuary early next year!
Let's make this happen.
New #preprint on work with Dr. Stacey Smith. We followed up on previous work to identify the transcription factor largely responsible for the shift to red flower color in Iochroma. We found a subgroup 7 Myb TF related to Myb12 that is tightly associated with variation in floral pigmentation in a backcross, strongly co-expressed with the flavonoid pathway branching enzyme F3'H, and drastically down-regulated in plants producing red pigments. #plants #EvolutionaryBiology
Springtime means sharing free clippings from the plants I’ve overwintered on my windowsill. Don’t forget to pay it forward. Kindness ALWAYS returns to its source.
