The Great Stamps War of 1963 saw Tesco in the green corner with their Green Shield Stamps and Priceright in the pink corner with their American-financed pink stamps. Sainsbury’s didn’t support any colour - they were anti-stamp. It was all to do with customer loyalty and the thrill of receiving a “free” gift.

Cars of the 1960s
The Bond Equipe GT
Designed by Lawrie Bond, the Equipe (pictured) was noted for its racy fastback roof and stylish nose. The car’s panels were formed from glass fibre, making them easy to manufacture, a factor that kept the price down - £822 - £21,000 today.

SQUEAKER. A bar-boy; also a bastard or any other child. To stifle the squeaker; to murder a bastard, or throw It into the necessary house.--Organ pipes are likewise called squeakers. The squeakers are meltable; the small pipes are silver. CANT.

As #German expansion increased the European dimensions of the so-called Jewish problem, and as the realization grew that the millions of #Jews living in Germany's new Lebensraum in the East might never fit into tiny #Palestine, the idea of dumping millions of Jews on the island of #Madagascar gained popularity among certain circles of German policy makers.
